Job Summary/Basic Function:
Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative Human Resources Coordinator, reporting to the Director, Human Resource Operations.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies:
  • Work with Marketing to source and attract candidates through various channels, including social media, career fairs, and networking:
  • Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates for open positions:
  • Conduct interviews and assessments, checking references, and making recommendations to hiring managers:
  • Coordinate and participate in job fairs, campus recruiting, and other recruitment events:
  • Manage the entire recruitment process, from posting job openings to extending offers of employment:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date job descriptions and ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations:
  • Create and manage recruitment pipelines and ensure a smooth candidate experience:
  • Utilize an applicant tracking system to manage candidate data and recruitment metrics:
  • Provide support and guidance to hiring managers on best practices in recruitment and selection:
  • Assist with HR Administrative tasks including being the back-up for the Benefits Administrator and Payroll Administrator:
  • HR Projects including policy updates, employee surveys, or employee engagement initiatives:

Physical Demands:
Able to traverse campus, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, bending, hearing, vision, and talking
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications for this position are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition and recruitment.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management ability
  • Proficiency in using HR software and applicant tracking systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information:
Desirable Qualifications:
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
  • Experience in a higher education or similar setting
