JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Human Resources is seeking detail-oriented and customer-focused individuals who will develop, plan, and implement a wide variety of human resources activities across multiple human resource functions within The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL).  ARL is a Department of Defense (DoD) designated University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) that provides cutting-edge research and innovation to the U.S. Navy.  The Human Resources functions include recruitment, hiring and retention; diversity, inclusion and belonging initiatives; employee and labor relations; equal opportunity; organizational development; talent management; total rewards and compensation; position management; and compliance monitoring. These positions will counsel full-time and part-time employees, as well as management on policies and procedures; initiate and/or respond to inquiries such as performance concerns; analyze data and prepare reports; provide unit representation on various committees; lead special projects; make recommendations for process improvements within the unit and work with the ARL Office of General Counsel to implement new and/or continuing legal requirements or initiatives.

This position will be filled at the Advanced Professional or Senior Professional level, depending on the final applicant's experience and education.  The Advanced Professional requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Additional experience and/or education are required for higher level positions. 

This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work, with on-site location in State College PA.  Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

This position will require successful completion of standard background checks.  You will be subject to a government security investigation, and you must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Employment with the ARL will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$68,200.00 - $115,100.00
