Job Summary:

The CU Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of the most prolific Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the nation, with a headcount of over 250 employees, 10 freestanding clinics, 8 subspecialty divisions, a top-20 NIH funded research program, and a full complement of educational programs including medical students, 7 fellowship programs, and a 40 FTE residency program. The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day HR operations of the department. This position provides subject matter expertise in Human Resources, provides advice and guidance to managers and employees, assists with implementation of strategic planning, maintains compliance with policies and laws, assists with performance and leave, and is responsible for the administration of multiple areas of human resources, including: talent acquisition, employee relations, credentialing, and maintaining employee records. This position will work closely with the Operations Director to decide what improvements can be made to existing processes, as well as looking into what other processes can be centralized or optimized. This position will also manage the faculty Promotions and Tenure process.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 1-2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, business, higher education administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 2 years of professional level experience.
  • 2 years of related professional experience

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Human resources experience in a higher education or academic medical center setting.
  • Experience with a Smartsheet platform
  • Knowledge of University of Colorado policies, Regent Rules, and SOM policies
  • Knowledge of UCHealth and CU Medicine credentialing policies
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HCM, Taleo applicant tracking systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in applying them to human resource challenges.
  • Knowledge of the professional standards, concepts, and practices of recruitment and selection, employee relations, or organizational development and human resource policy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, including public speaking.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Thorough knowledge of current management and leadership methods and best practices

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as $51,190 - $65,113.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
