JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


The Center for Childhood Obesity Research (CCOR) in the College of Health and Human Development at Penn State University invites applications for a Human Research Technologist - Health and Medicine position at the University Park Campus. This position will assist with data collection protocols for multiple ongoing research studies.  


  


Responsibilities include:  


  • Collecting data (in-person and remote) 

  • Entering and managing data in designated systems  

  • Tracking participant progress throughout the duration of the study

  • Ensuring compliance with IRB protocols 

  • Recruiting and consenting participants  

  • Scheduling and confirming appointments 

  • Attending training sessions and team meetings 

  • Communicating with participants and community partner administration  

  • Sending study materials (surveys, intervention materials, participant compensation) via mail, text, and/or email 

  • Serve on designated committees within the study when appropriate 

  • Supervise undergraduate research assistants

Education and Experience Requirements

This position will be filled as a Professional or an Intermediate Professional depending on the final applicant's education and experience. For the Professional level, this position requires an Associate Degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education and/or experience are required for higher-level positions.

Required Background Checks

This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. 

This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. 

Additional Information

This is a limited-term staff appointment, funded for one year from the date of hire, with an excellent possibility of renewal.

This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process. 


The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $61,000.00
