JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Family and Community Medicine Research Division at Penn State College of Medicine, is seeking an Human Research Technologist - Health and Medicine to work with Dr. Elizabeth Losin, Department of Biobehavioral Health within the Social and Cultural Neuroscience Lab at University Park.  This position will be a College of Medicine based position.

This position is supported by a new NIH grant from the National Institute of Aging on the biopsychosocial mechanisms underlying the impact of structural racism and discrimination on chronic pain in black or African American older adults.  In the Social and Cultural Neuroscience Lab, we combine theory and methodology from anthropology, psychology, and neuroscience to understand the complex relationships between culture, the brain, and health. 

Duties:

  • Participant recruitment and screening
  • Behavioral and MRI data collection – Must be able to be in the MRI suite
  • Data management
  • IRB protocol preparation and management
  • Lab administration

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous research experience (ideally in Psychology or Neuroscience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science or a related field
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Preferred experience interacting with research participants

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $55,500.00
