Description of Work Unit
Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The Division of Information Technology, the central IT organization for the Colorado State University System, supports the land-grant heritage of the institution as well as the university’s missions of teaching and learning, research, and service. The Division of IT is responsible for delivering enterprise and campus focused IT services for the Fort Collins, Pueblo and Spur campuses as well as throughout the CSU-System. Areas of responsibility include Application Development and User Support Services, Academic Technology, Cybersecurity & Privacy, Networking and Telecommunications, Infrastructure and Databases, Business Intelligence and Data Integrations, Administrative Applications, and Student Applications. Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of ERPs, the HRIS Analyst will play a crucial role in the 30-month project implementing a state-of-the-art cloud-based HCM system across the Colorado State University System. The primary responsibility of the HRIS Analyst will be to backfill existing HRIS Analysts and support the ongoing HRIS operations to enable existing HRIS team members the opportunity to collaborate with Division of IT staff and other stakeholders to implement and test the chosen HCM solution. The primary responsibilities will include administering and maintaining Oracle EBS, ensuring accurate and up-to-date technical solutions. In addition, they will collaborate with HR and IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve any system issues.
This is a full-time, limited-term assignment for the duration of the project (through June 30, 2026), subject to renewal or conversion to permanent based on departmental need and funding. During the limited-term period, employees will have access to CSU’s comprehensive benefit and retirement programs as well as on-the-job training, mentorship and guidance throughout the assignment.
Required Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or similar degree OR any bachelor’s degree plus one or more years of professional experience. Candidates with a High School Diploma (or GED) and 5 or more years of related professional experience will be considered for employment (without the required bachelors or other post-secondary education).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date.
  • Practical experience using PL/SQL in an Oracle/Unix environment.
Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Application development experience using Oracle Forms and Reports
  • Previous application development experience in higher education.

  • Provides ongoing analysis, design, coding/configuration, testing, documentation and implementation of application software to support the the Advanced Benefits and Employee Benefits Self Service components of the Oracle HR/Payroll application.
  • Implements new modules and functionality relating to the Oracle HR/Payroll application that impacts the HR Department and HR uses across campus.
  • Implements and supports major vendor software upgrades, if any.
  • Consults with users to determine functional requirements and test scenarios, and prepare written specifications for the Human Resources area.
  • Responds to user requests and concerns by answering questions and correcting application software bugs, in a timely manner.
