Job Summary

The HR Specialist is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Workforce Management area which includes functional and technical support in the utilization and improvement of the PeopleSoft system.

 

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

  • Responsible for the end-to-end management of transactions by initiating, tracking, and closing actions in the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) system. Transactions include, but are not limited to, appointments, position creation/modification, terminations, and salary changes as required by location. Responsible for coordinating new employee activities, including onboarding, I-9, etc, when needed.
  • Performs research and analysis to detect HCM discrepancies and correct as needed. Conducts regular audits to ensure information is correct and work with Payroll and other constituents to correct errors in the system. Work with Payroll with transactions needed during the semi-and monthly payroll processing as required by location. Run, review, and audit reports to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Provide support for system upgrades, enhancements, testing, validation, and overall performance; analyze software releases to assess impact of new features. Assist in the design, configuration, development, testing, implementation, and upgrading applications. Maintain effective communication and working relationships with stakeholders to support successful project design, implementation and adoption of new processes and initiatives.
  • Identify and implement processes for ensuring and confirming data integrity and accuracy of system entries. Focus on data integrity, data analysis, system administration, process improvements, reporting and ensuring integration of all HR databases.
  • Compile and analyze data from HR activities and make recommendations for changes. Participate in HR process improvement initiatives and special projects, as needed.
  • Serves as the primary liaison to communicate changes to HR policies and programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Experience in human resources.
  • Education may be considered in lieu of experience.

Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
