Position Summary
Processes bi-weekly and monthly payroll. Provides oversight and approval for appointments in system. Provides entry of staff and/or student records and ensures records are properly maintained. Through payroll costing allocations, allocates funding to departmental accounts based on approved funding.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinates and oversees all department payroll activities.
- Reconciles bi-weekly and monthly paysheets. Coordinates with department leadership to correct any discrepancies and ensure pay is correct and timely. Enters Payroll costing allocations and payroll accounting adjustments as requested.
- Facilitates onboarding process for all new hires.
- Provides entry and updates to HR personnel data in Workday.
- Assists with tracking, reporting and budgeting of school/department funds.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Knowledge of University systems.
- Prior experience in a university setting and financial reporting systems.
- Detail-oriented with effective analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines with varying degrees of pressure, multi-task, prioritize, work independently and handle confidential information responsibly.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Effective customer service skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent high school certification.
- Three years of payroll, accounting, human resources, administrative support or related experience.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

G09-H
Salary Range
$22.92 - $35.49 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
