The Human Resources Consultant (HR Business Partner 3) serves as a consultative role in the Strategic Initiatives function of Human Resources supporting the College of Education and Human Ecology by developing strong relationships with key stakeholders, team members and serves as resource to users across the campus as they transition to utilizing it for HR transactions.

The Human Resources Consultant provides consultative support to managers & collaborates with stakeholders to align the HR Operations strategy with that of the unit of support in the areas of employee support/experience, manager support, reporting and analytics, talent acquisition, talent management, compliance, workforce planning, classification and compensation, employee relations and performance management, organizational design and effectiveness, onboarding/offboarding, or employment lifecycle. Partners with HR Business Partner to communicate and implement key HR initiatives and strategies impacting employees and managers. Provides strategic consultation on cross-discipline matters aligning business objectives with unit needs. Develops relationships with key stakeholders to execute HR operations, offer solutions and support employee engagement. Consults to tie business objectives to employee and manager needs. Collaborates with leaders to effectively utilize Centers of Expertise (COEs). Support the unit’s action plan to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion

Key Responsibilities

Required Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 4 years of relevant experience.

Desired Education/Experience

4-8 years of relevant experience. Experience in a higher education setting. Experience in cyclical employee onboarding/offboarding


Additional Information:

Target Hiring Range: $67,700-$90,300*

*The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
