Position Summary:


 


The HR enterprise is comprised of three unique business units: Health, Health Sciences, and main campus. The Partnership serves as a strategic center responsible for planning and implementing strategic initiatives across the entire UCI HR enterprise. Uses advanced professional HR concepts to provide guidance to all levels within the organization to evaluate and resolve highly complex issues related to HR risk, safety and engagement issues. Through the use of inquiries, climate surveys, training programs, and dispute resolution techniques, assists to prevent, evaluate, or resolve workplace disruptions and to enhance operational efficiencies, employee engagement, and retention.

$90,500.00 - $169,700.00 (Annual Salary)


 


Required:


 

  •  5+ years of direct experience in varied HR roles, with an emphasis on client or customer service
  • Previous experience evaluating workplace disruptions (inquiries, climate surveys, investigations, etc.) and making recommendations for resolution
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Possesses advanced analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills. 
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of organizational policies and procedures; advanced knowledge of functional area and understands how work affects other areas in Human Resources and the organization. 
  • Advanced knowledge of human resources concepts, policies and procedures including employment practices, labor relations, salary administration, training and other areas of human resources as well as organizational initiatives relating to and / or affecting human resources. 
  • In-depth knowledge of a human resources management system (HRMS), and / or other related business software programs and systems. Advanced interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to present complex information. 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle extremely difficult or volatile situations / individuals effectively. 
  • Demonstrated active listening and critical thinking skills. Strong analytical, active listening, and critical thinking skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain discretion with sensitive and confidential information.


 


Preferred:
 
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certification or PHR or SPHR Certification (preferred)
  • Experience in a unionized environment.
  • Prior experience working in an HR generalist position


 


Special Conditions Required:

 

  • Supports offices in Orange and Irvine; must be able to reliably report to these different worksites at different times, with little notice.
