Housing Custodial & Facilities Technician

Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: Housing Custodial & Facilities Technician in University Housing.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Perform general grounds and trades work including painting, power washing, landscaping, window screen repair, and entry level HVAC, electrical and plumbing.
· Plan, coordinate, and complete summer moving objectives, while directly supervising student staff workers.
· Utilize established protocols to address mold, bed bugs, fleas, scabies, influenza, pin worms, lice, vandalism, large-scale bathroom cleaning, and other infestations, illnesses, hazards and pool operations.
· Remove trash and recyclables from designated areas.
· Assist with cleaning/turn-over of bed spaces, private and community bathrooms, and common areas between all student departures/arrivals, during summer turnover, and between conferences and orientations.
· Clean all surfaces and items in assigned areas, including community desks, pool areas, activity houses, multi-purpose and programming spaces.
· Collaborate with contracted workers, confirming successful completion and documentation of work.
· Maintain flooring in designated areas.
· Maintain equipment and report maintenance and supply needs.
· Stock and maintain supplies carts and closets with consistency.
Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and custodial or groundskeeping experience directly related to the area of employment is required. At least one (1) year of custodial, grounds, and/or maintenance experience is preferred.

Building/ Grounds Specialist III (KA15/61122935/FTE-S00962P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 03. Salary range: $26,385.00 (minimum) – $37,605.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday, 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Must be able to work overtime; before start of shift, at end of shift, weekends, etc.
Required Qualifications
A high school diploma and custodial or groundskeeping experience directly related to the area of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
At least one year of custodial, grounds, and/or maintenance experience.
Licensure and/or Certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to deal courteously with the public and students. Ability to work independently and supervise student employees. Knowledge of operation and use of equipment and tools used in the care and cleaning of buildings. Knowledge of custodial services practices, techniques, and procedures preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Ability to inventory, order and maintain supplies as needed.
