Position Summary
The Center for Reproductive Health Sciences is looking for a motivated Histology Technician I to join our team. The successful candidate will perform frozen tissue histology techniques and other clinical/lab duties that contribute to ensuring the CRepHS Histology Core functions efficiently.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares histology sections by processing tissue and embedding, cutting, and staining prepared sections.
  • Prepares frozen histology sections.
  • Performs general maintenance of laboratory equipment. 
  • Cleans and prepares staining set and conducts quality control.
  • May be required to perform special techniques such as immunohistochemical techniques and stains and cutting of frozen tissue.
  • Assists supervisor with other duties and special projects as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in medical assisting and/or laboratory support.
  • Background in medical office/laboratory with willingness to learn histology.


Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.

Salary Range
$17.00 - $24.66 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
