Position Summary | Position Summary The College of Nursing is recruiting for a Health Sciences Research Tech III to support the Breastfeeding, Child Health, and Mammary Permeability Study (CHAMPS) grant. The purpose of this study is to learn about how milk composition contributes to a new parent’s milk supply and how in turn, human milk affects the infant health and growth. Duties will include biological sample receiving, processing and shipping; performing laboratory-based assays including ELISA and Mesoscale Discovery, ion selective electrodes and milk macronutrient analysis. Analysis may also include flow cytometry and qpcr. The ideal candidate will have experience with data analysis and interpretation as well as the ability and willingness to graph data and create figures for poster presentations and manuscripts. This is a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded term part-time position with working hours set at 20 hours per week. College of Nursing The University Of New Mexico College of Nursing, located in Albuquerque, NM, ranks in the top 15% of nursing programs in the country. With over 1,000 enrolled students, the college offers pre- and post-licensure baccalaureate, master’s, post-master’s, and doctoral programs. Program offerings include the state’s premiere Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs; master’s and post-master’s programs across seven concentrations for APRNs, nurse educators, and nurse administrators; and the New Mexico Nurse Education Consortium baccalaureate curriculum. Our faculty engage in innovative teaching, research and clinical scholarship to understand and address the health care needs among our most vulnerable populations.
