HEALTH PROFESSIONS EDUCATION SPECIALIST 3- LEAD (HEALTH PROFNS EDUC SPEC 3)
Job Summary
This position reports to the Director of the Center for Simulation and Education Enhancement (CSEE) and will support the technical and teaching, and outreach activities of the Center. This position is responsible for CSEE technical operations and teaching support and will serve in a team lead role for the equipment-based simulation group (manikins and task trainers). The role is required to apply many unique skills and knowledge including clinical, computer, and simulation technology for multiple disciplines. Responsibilities will also include the coordinating and oversight of planning and delivery of clinical training scenarios and program development, faculty and community liaison, and compliance with standards and regulations. This position will include being a technical instructor for use of simulation training equipment and workshop presentations. The team lead role will be responsible for training, tracking, and mentoring the HPES 3 technical team members.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related fields or equivalent experience.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, physiology, and clinical application
  • Proficient in PC software applications; MS word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a clinical setting with physicians, clinical staff and learners.
  • Experience with video recording and audio-visual equipment.
  • Advanced degree in related fields.
  • Previous experience working with medical simulation education as a simulation device operator or programmer.
  • Knowledge of medical simulation services and instructional technology; principles and methods of adult education
  • Possesses a clinical license related to the simulation education process such as RN, EMT etc. and experience in BLS, ALC, PALS, NRP and ATLS
