Friends University is seeking to fill the Head Coach Cross Country & Assistant Coach Track & Field position in Wichita Kansas.  This position will oversee all aspects of the Men’s and Women’s cross country and track distance program including, training, recruiting, budgeting, academic oversight, PR, & meet management. The position will also play a major role in the Track and Field Season as an assistant coach working primarily with the distance events 800m and up.

Skills & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; Masters preferred.

2-4 years of coaching experience preferred; College coaching and recruitment experience preferred.

Excellent written, oral and inter personal communication skills are necessary. The ability to motivate and influence others is material to this position. Requires diplomacy, ability to garner trust of others and maintaining confidential information. Ability to lead in an inclusive and developmental manner. The position requires strong financial management, time management and personnel management skills. The individual must possess acute understanding of sport preparation and facilitation.
