The University of North Georgia Campus Recreation and Wellness is currently accepting applications for a Group Fitness Instructor - Institutional Student Worker on the Dahlonega campus. Recreation and Wellness is seeking knowledgeable, energetic students interested in promoting fitness on campus. Group Fitness Instructors are responsible for leading multiple group fitness classes that range in variety and levels, including counting, cueing, organizing, and choreography. Campus Recreation and Wellness offers a healthy and friendly work environment that is able to accommodate student schedules.

  • Provide group workouts to varying age and skill range for participants in small and large group settings, including counting, cueing, organizing, and choreography.
  • Maintain group fitness equipment, rooms, and storage areas.
  • Implement university and recreation facility rules and procedures.
  • Assist with special events, as requested by supervisor.
  • Attend all required trainings. 
  • Respond to emergencies following the CRW Emergency Action Plan.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to teach at a variety of times in conjunction with the CRW Recreation Center schedule.
  • Hold an interest in the field of health and fitness.
  • A passion to help others in their health and fitness journey and ability to relate students and staff.
  • Ability to conduct safe and effective classes. 
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Current Nationally recognized Group Fitness Instructor Certification or obtain certification within three months of date of hire (mentor program required with an experienced, certified teacher until certification is obtained).
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification or able to obtain within the first 30 days of employment.
