Position is grant funded, and current funding goes through August 31, 2025. Funding expected to continue.


Purpose

Provide graphic design and production services to the UT Center for Health Communication (CHC) under guidance of Creative Director.


Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the Creative Director, provide graphic design and production for all visual communication pieces created as part of several grant-funded, statewide projects related to mental health promotion, substance use disorder prevention, public health disease tracking, and cancer screening and prevention.

  • Responsible for creating and executing design concepts as well as maintaining visual appearance and brand continuity in both print and digital environments. Areas of work may include: brochures, direct mail, identity, digital ads, presentations, graphics, promotional displays, signage, toolkits, and web design.

  • Maintain effective communication with supervisor and project teams and must be able to work collaboratively or independently with minimal direction. Able to understand project needs and goals and present concepts internally to project team and externally to clients as needed.

  • Contribute to CHC brand growth and awareness with creation of internal and external communication materials, in accordance with CHC and UT brand guidelines.

  • Support CHC’s mission to lead the creation of evidence-based health communication scholarship, education, and practice. Related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, studio art, design, or related field

  • 1 years’ experience in graphic design and production

  • Use of tools of the trade, including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)

  • Must possess a strong sense of concept development, have superior design, technical and editing skills, and up-to-date knowledge of industry software and design trends

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other designers and creative team members

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to incorporate feedback from multiple internal and external stakeholders

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communication or graphic design for health issues or clients

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite for design projects, specifically Word and PowerPoint

  • Print production experience, such as for posters, mailers, and promotional items

  • Experience creating motion graphics and/or animation

  • 2+ years’ experience in graphic design and production


Salary Range

$43,500 + depending on qualifications

Standard office conditions.
