Position Summary/Description:


This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The Grant and Research Coordinator serves as a key member of the department's accounting team, comprised of three Coordinators who report to an Accounting Manager. This team facilitates the financial operations of the department, including managing the department's grant portfolio of approximately $25 million.
This position has the crucial role of providing direct support to a subset of our faculty. They provide pre-award support, which includes assisting PIs with grant proposals and budget development. They will provide post-award support, which includes developing funding plans for faculty with complex arrangements, ensuring compliance with campus and agency requirements and deadlines, and navigating University policies on procurement and travel. They will provide support with reporting and closeout processes as needed.
This position will also manage any non-sponsored funds assigned to their particular faculty, such as trust and startup funds.

Education and Experience:


Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
