The grants manager is responsible for post-award administration of federal and non-federal grants. The grants manager will conduct monthly audit of grants and prepare monthly financial reports for the PIs. Other responsibilities include award closeouts, assisting with special projects related to the Research of the department of Medicine such as working with the cores and service center budgets, Proformas, establishing procedures & best practices for grant management in the department, etc. The incumbent should have knowledge of research and/or administration in an academic setting. 

  • Independently manages a portfolio of grants. Reviews notice of grant awards, contracts and institutional guidelines to stay abreast of changes that may impact a specific grant. Works collaboratively with BU/BMC Central research offices to ensure compliance.
  • Prepares budgets and financial reports in alignment with sponsor guidelines. Provides regular budget updates to Principal Investigator(s). Processes expense adjustments to ensure proper posting and avoid over expenditures.
  • Assist Central Research Administration in DOM with special projects such as monitoring deficits and grant clean-up, Proformas, DOM research awards, setting policies within the dept. assisting with developing training tools for dept grant managers, etc.

Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of related experience required.
