HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The ideal candidate for this position will perform and assist pre and post-award duties for their college portfolio. The Grants & Contracts Officer I will have a low level of decision-making and will be dually supervised by the CRO and Assistant Directors. They will work under the direction of CRA and ADs and be mentored by GCO IIIs and GCO IIs on the team.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Grants & Contracts Officer I are the following:

  • Initiation of MSS for personnel who will post to sponsored projects 100%, including staff and post-docs, and effort changes to 100% sponsored projects at the direction of an Assistant Director or G&C III on sponsored projects.
  • Initiating documentation for PPAs for personnel charges that need to be transferred to a sponsored project, including the cost transfer forms and payroll earning detail spreadsheets.
  • Assist ADs and GCOs with monthly expenditure reviews by pulling necessary documentation, sending monthly expenditure reports to PIs, and collecting and filing signed copies.
  • Pre-review of effort reports in assigned departments on the assigned GSU schedule.
  • Assists with setting up vendors in PantherMart that will be paid for by sponsored projects, including sub-awardees.
  • Will enter purchase orders for sub-awards into PantherMart and assist with the invoicing and payment process to sub-awardees.
  • Entry of other invoices into PantherMart for payment on sponsored projects when appropriate.
  • Assists with various data entries into the GSU research administration system, such as no-cost extensions, RPPRs, admin changes, and other forms as needed.
  • Assists ADs and GCOs with cleaning up and closing out sponsored accounts that are expiring and need final close out. Follows up on closed accounts to ensure no erroneous charges are posted.
  • Assist with entering summer payments in the summer portal for faculty at the direction of an AD or GCO III.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

  • Experience with accounting and administrative duties, preferably in a higher education setting.
