General Description
The purpose of this position is to administer the grants and Federal Work Study (FWS) programs in compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations, assist with internal auditing, specifically with verification and Student Aid programs, advise and counsel students and families of financial aid procedures and guidelines, specifically those related to the administration of grants and FWS in the Student Aid Office.
Essential Job Duties
1. Organize the administration of all federal and state grant programs and all out-of-state and international grants including, but not limited to the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, the Alabama National Guard Educational Assistance Program and the Alabama Student Assistance Grant Program.
2. Reconcile all federal and state grant programs according to federal and state reconciliation regulations.
3. Organize the administration of the Federal Work Study (FWS) program.
4. Reconcile the FWS program according to federal reconciliation regulations.
5. Work with Student Employment to ensure appropriate processing of FWS paperwork while monitoring and addressing FWS fund management.
6. Interact with the Alabama Office of Veteran Affairs, the Office of Student Accounts, and eligible students and their families, to ensure proper processing and receipt of Alabama GI Dependent scholarship funds.
7. Assist in awarding and adjusting financial aid awards.
8. Monitor student eligibility for grants, FWS and other types of federal, state and institutional aid.
9. Assist with internal auditing of all processes, specifically verification and program administration.
10. Counsel students and parents on federal aid regulations and the financial aid process.
11. Maintain and update the P&P Manual sections pertaining to the position’s duties.
12. Must maintain current knowledge of federal, state and institutional Student Aid regulations.
13. Attend webinars, workshops and/or conferences to stay abreast of changes in governmental regulations.
14. Secondary administrator of scholarships.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Extensive computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office;
Experience utilizing Banner Software, specifically in Student Financial Aid;
Experience utilizing ARGOS;
Knowledge of institutional policies and procedures;
Knowledge of federal and state regulations;
Exceptional customer service;
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing;
Exceptional organizational skills;
Ability to multi-task and self-manage tasks;
Ability to lead and work in teams.
