UMass Global's full-time faculty's responsibilities include teaching, mentoring, and service. Research activities are supported but not required. All faculty positions are non-tenure track, primarily hired as Assistant Professor; however, a higher rank may be considered if appropriate. UMass Global offers competitive salaries with generous benefits.      

The ideal candidate will have:

  • MSW from a CSWE-accredited program.
  • Doctoral degree in social work or related field.
  • At least five years of postmaster’s social work practice experience.
  • Experience in online instruction and curriculum development.
  • Interest in continuously exploring new technology.
  • Experience in grant administration and report writing

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Commitment to teaching and mentoring.
  • Experience in teaching micro and macro practice.
  • Familiarity with generalist and advanced generalist curriculum.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to address intersectionality theory in the classroom, particularly with power, privilege, and oppression issues.
  • Strong clinical experience in mental health settings.
  • Experience teaching adult learners in a college environment.
  • Adequate record of innovation integrating curriculum and practice with appropriate technologies.
  • Knowledge of UMass Global policies and procedures.
  • Residency in the State of California may require some travel within California.

Responsibilities:

This 10-month, grant-funded position includes shared responsibility for curricular administration of the Master of Social Work Program and UMass Global’s participation in the California Social Work Education Capacity Expansion grant program. The position will work directly with the MSW Program Director to ensure the grant parameters are met.

The MSW program serves many first-generation students, military students, and students from groups underrepresented in academia. This position is expected to work and teach online rather than from a physical campus.

Salary And Benefits:

Assistant Professor Starting annual salary: $78,500 - $80,500 based on education and experience.

Associate Professor Starting annual salary: $80,500 - $90,000 based on education and experience.

In addition, Umass Global offers an attractive fringe benefit package , including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, retirement, and tuition remission.

This position is grant-funded and considered at-will employment.
