Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of six health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Social Work, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The School teaches approximately 600 PharmD students and 145 graduate students. Position Summary
The Graduate Program Coordinator performs administrative and office support activities for the Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics (DPET) and its graduate program. This position is heavily involved with all matters regarding the graduate program within the division including recruitment, progression and graduation. 
This position will provide administrative support that includes, but is not limited to, assisting with Finance/HR tasks and inquires, processing travel and payments, preparation/editing of documents, calendar management, special event support, and general clerical support for various activities.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prior experience in providing administrative support capacity is essential.
The candidate must have a working knowledge of all Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat products, relative to their position. This would include PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Publisher, and Excel. It is expected upon hire to maintain a level of proficiency related to these products.
Must possess strong professional interpersonal skills. 
Must be organized and possess refined multi-tasking skills with demonstrated ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. 
Must be able to exercise sound judgment and work proactively and independently. Must have the ability and willingness to follow through, resolve issues, complete assigned tasks, be proactive to improve processes within job function, and mitigate risks. 
Must be willing to work as a team and be flexible and able to easily adapt to change to accommodate needs in the division.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience working in a fast-paced environment. 
Knowledge of UNC systems and policies is preferred. 
Ability to prosper in a fast paced and hectic environment that often involves quick decision making and multitasking skills. 
A proven ability to function independently yet being able to recognize when to seek guidance from supervisors is crucial. 
A preferred candidate would have a track record of success in event planning and/or administrative support for multiple shareholders. 
The incumbent should be able to promote and maintain a productive and collaborative work environment and create a knowledgeable and welcoming workplace for faculty, administrators, staff, and learners.
A preferred candidate would have some experience proofing and editing documents for general grammatical errors. Experience with citation/bibliography management is preferred, especially with citation software like Endnote and/or RefWorks.
A preferred candidate would have a background, or interest, in marketing/communications. Skills would include creating graphics/logos and good writing/editing skills. Creativity is welcomed.
Prior experience with UNC finance and travel systems is preferred.

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
