Summary

The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures (RLL) has an open position for a GraduateProgramCoordinator.Youwilloverseealladministrativeaspectsofourthreedoctoral programs and one graduate certificate program.

We are looking for someone who understands graduate students and has experience in graduatestudentservices.TheidealGraduateProgramCoordinatorwillbeacreativepartnerin building the future of the department.

Thisisafull-time,hybridposition.YouwillworkonAnnArbor'scentralcampusintheModern Languages Building. We support flexible work schedules based on LSA policy.

Responsibilities*

ReportingtotheStudentServicesManager,you will:

  • Overseealladministrativeaspectsofourdoctoralprogram,advisePh.D.students regarding academic milestones, and track their academic progress
  • Supportfacultyadvisorsastheymentorgraduatestudents
  • CoordinatethehiringofGraduateStudentInstructorsandensurecompliancewiththe agreement between U-M and the Graduate Employee's Organization
  • Managetherecruitment,application,andadmissionsprocessesforthedepartment's doctoral programs
  • Administerandtrackfellowshipfunding,benefits,andgrantstosupportourdoctoral students.Advise students on available funding and other funding options.
  • OverseeRLL'ssectionbudget(LISEC),BlockGrant,Rackhamgrantfunds,andother gift funds with Chief Administrator guidance and approval.
  • Createandmonitorbasicbudgetsandensureexpendituresareinlinewithapproved budget proposals
  • Partnerwithdepartmentleadershiptofosteravibrantandinclusivecommunityof scholars
  • RepresentRLLtotheHoraceH.RackhamSchoolofGraduateStudiesandtheCollege of Literature, Science, and the Arts
  •  ServeasanimportantpartoftheRLLStudentServicesteam,providingback-upmain office coverage and undergraduate student support, working closely with student services colleagues, and meeting regularly.

  • 3ormoreyearspriorexperienceworkinginstudentservicesatacollegeoruniversity
  • Ademonstratedcommitmenttodiversity,equity,andinclusion
  • Priorexperienceworkingwithconfidentialmaterials
  • Abachelor's degree orequivalent work experience
  • Excellentinterpersonalskillsandadeptatcommunicatingwithothers
  • Significantexperienceorganizingandtrackingdetailedinformation.

Thesalaryrangeforthispositionis$46,000-$56,000,pleasenoteahighersalarymaybe offered based on equity and the selected candidate's experience.
