Position Summary
The Department of Medical Education is seeking a enthusiastic part time non benefit eligible graduate hourly researcher. As a Graduate Hourly, you'll have the unique opportunity assisting the Principal Investigator Associate with research and data analysis.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibilities and assists faculty members in research and creative activities for education research projects.
  • Performs tasks related to supporting on-going education research projects with a focus on data management, organization, analysis.
  • Utilize best practices for data management and data query, to identify and aggregate data from multiple large databases housed within Information Resources, College and campus registrars, Admissions, and Educational Affairs.
  • Additional tasks could include reviewing academic articles, project management, coordinating meetings with research team members.
  • Communicates with supervisor, research team members, and staff in a collegial and timely manner.
  • Assist in compiling well-written, accurate reports for program evaluation, accreditation, and research.
  • Perform other related assigned duties.
  • Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate level or enrolled in Graduate School at UIC.
  • Minimum 2-year experience required in data analytics, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft systems (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in a subset of the following: R, Stata, SPSS, PowerBI and/or Tableau.
  • Skill in managing datasets including merging data across data sets, organizing data for subsequent statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistics, choose appropriate statistical analyses for educational datasets, and communicate findings.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities (e.g., managing multiple projects)
  • Skill in planning, organization, coordination of activities (e.g., meetings, calendars).
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team, exhibit patience and willingness to learn as well as to teach others.
  • General knowledge of clinical education is an asset (e.g., medicine, nursing, pharmacy etc…)
