DESCRIPTION

Otterbein University is seeking a Graduate Assistant for the Department of Nursing who will be responsible for assisting faculty with scholarly or teaching assignments; administrative staff with clerical and data management tasks; and lab supervisor with nursing laboratory associated tasks.
The Graduate Assistant is a part-time, 20 hours per week, 12-month position starting June 2024, and is renewable for a second year (two years total). The second year appointment is contingent upon successful completion of GA duties and responsibilities. All GA's must adhere to their graduate program requirements including maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA and must be enrolled in graduate coursework in each semester of the appointment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist faculty members with scholarly work such as library searches.
  • Assist with the design, implementation and data collection of research projects as directed.
  • Assist faculty with teaching assignments such as grading of papers and developing grading rubrics.
  • Enter data into nursing department databases.
  • Assist laboratory supervisor with planning and set up of lab experiences, simulations and check-offs.
  • Assist Administrative Assistant with clerical and office tasks, such as miscellaneous typing, copying and filing.
  • Assist Administrative Coordinator with record keeping and office tasks.
  • Assist faculty with committee tasks, such as data collection and database entry.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate must possess the ability to work effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse communities and cultures. The graduate assistant must be accepted and enrolled into a Graduate School program at Otterbein University, must meet the requirements written within the Graduate School Policy Handbook and the Graduate Assistant Procedures.
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Acceptance into a Graduate Program at Otterbein/Antioch University
  • Must live locally while classes are in session
