The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant, Criminal Justice on the Dahlonega campus. The Department of Criminal Justice is seeking a graduate student to work closely with the Chair, the Graduate Coordinator, and the Internship Coordinator of the criminal justice program at the University of North Georgia.  We are looking for a personable, self-motivated, and well-organized individual.  The position requires the ability to work in the departmental office on the Dahlonega campus of UNG a minimum of 13 hours per week.  The essential duties include, but are not limited to the following: assisting the Graduate Coordinator and Internship Coordinator with academic and field research, developing teaching materials related to the internship experience, assisting in the online classroom environment, grading academic assignments, assisting Department Professors with course management opportunities, speaking with internship supervisors at criminal justice agencies, and coordinating internship placements.  Applicants must be accepted to the Graduate School at UNG, be in good standing, be willing to work on the Dahlonega campus of UNG, and be willing to enroll in 6-9 credit hours per semester.  The position includes a tuition waiver and semester stipend.

  • Research activities - engage in data collection (qualitative and quantitative), analysis, and report preparation; participate in institutional review board processes.
  • Teaching activities - assist Department Professors with classroom semblance to include recording attendance, grading assignments, proctoring examinations, shredding individualized materials.
  • Placement of Interns - contact law enforcement agency liaisons to coordinate student placement for CRJU 4850; attend annual Criminal Justice Career Day job fair and coordinate agency appearance; assist the Internship Coordinator with the organization of recruiting measures associated with the POST Academy on the Dahlonega Campus.
