Georgia College and State University, a D2 Institution in Milledgeville, Georgia, is seeking a Graduate Assistant for the Women's Volleyball Program for the 2024-2025 academic year. The person hired for this position will serve as an assistant to the head coach and will be responsible for assisting the head coach in facilitating practices, skill development, scheduling, operations management, and social media as well as assisting with recruitment. 

Candidates should possess strong organizational skills and a desire to recruit effectively. They should also have experience playing at the collegiate level, at any Division.  A bachelor's degree and acceptance to a master's degree program at Georgia College and State University is required for this position. Start date is August 1, 2024

Responsibilities - 
The graduate assistant assists the head coach o have successful practices, games and overall quality of the associated program. The primary responsibility of the graduate assistant is to provide full support of the program to which the individual is assigned. This position will support the Athletics Department programs as assigned.
Other expectations include attending and supervising weights and conditioning sessions; assisting in day-to-day activities such as planning and setting up practices, instructing athletes, organizing work schedule for volleyball games, equipment distribution and other necessary duties. Position may require working with sports camps.

Be approved for regular admission to a graduate degree program at Georgia College & State University.
Maintain academic good standing. If a student's grade point average falls below a 3.00 (academic warning), the student will have next semester or summer term to improve and return to good standing before termination of the assistantship. Should a student fail to return to good standing after the next semester or summer term, or should a student receive academic exclusion and be dismissed from the degree program, the assistantship will be terminated at once.
Graduate assistants are required to work between ten and twenty hours per week (depending on their contracts) for a total of 150-300 hours during the fall and spring semesters. Course loads for graduate assistants must be at least six graduate semester hours.

Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment, to take initiative, and to follow through with all responsibilities and assigned tasks. Ability to work with a diverse constituency.
