Graduate Assistant, Athletic Communications

Summary

The Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communication is responsible for assisting the director of sports information in publicizing Barry's 19-sport intercollegiate athletics program.


Essential Functions

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: writing press releases, assisting with production of printed and online materials and helping with home event management, including public address and broadcasting, for all sports, as well as handling other duties as assigned.

  • In addition, the Graduate Assistant will provide media relations assistance to Barry University athletic teams on selected road trips and represent the Athletic Department at any University function or outside activity as requested by the Athletic Communications Director or Director of Athletics.     

  • The Graduate Assistant also assists with the supervision of the student crews, including the broadcast program which airs over 100 events per year.

  • The Graduate Assistant must present and execute all responsibilities in light of the established institutional and program goals and objectives.

     


Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field required.

  • Must be accepted into the graduate program at Barry University.

  • 0 -12 months of related experience required.

  • A valid driver's license is required.
