The Opportunity:

The Department of Psychology is seeking a Graduate Admissions Specialist I, enrollment services professional who will participate in activities related to academic admissions, registration, financial aid services, and orientation for current and potential university students.

Provides administrative support in all duties related to the academic operation of the Department of Psychology Graduate program/programs, including but not limited to; student records management, registration, hiring students on assistantships, and admissions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of students to a graduate program at the university.

  • Provides administrative support to graduate program including assisting the program director with all administrative/clerical needs, updating program information materials including brochures, handbooks and catalogs, review and pre-certify student GPS, assist with the process of graduate assistantships, update graduate students regarding academic and financial deadlines and graduate student policies.

  • Provides information to prospective and current students and addresses inquiries about academic requirements and admissions process. Assist with enrollment and student registration. Attends and assists with activities including orientations, open houses, brown bags, information sessions, recruitment fairs, and department and program meetings and take meeting minutes.

  • Coordinates the admissions process, including monitoring and responding to inquiries, receiving, and processing applications, managing admissions database, and updating student records. Assists with applicant notification and inquires after decisions have been made. Maintains ongoing communication with prospective students from point of inquiry through the admissions process.

  • Assists graduate students with academic requests, assist with program accreditation, maintain, and organize academic records and electronic files, including student records, internship, externship, practicum, registration, fellowships, responds to email and phone inquiries regarding program.

  • Performs backup and other duties in support of Psychology administration. Support departmental administrative process regarding scheduling, curriculum, and research administration.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Computer skills in MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.

  • Ability to accurately and expediently input a large volume of data on a daily basis.

  • 1-3+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Ability to face complex problems.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills and customer service skills are key to this position.

  • Strong organizational skills.
