The Graduate Academic Manager is responsible for providing academic and learning support to our clinical graduate students in the Departments of Health Rehabilitation Sciences. The Graduate Academic Manager will be responsible for the design and implementation of learning strategies and assessments for graduate students, working closely with the Graduate Program Directors in each program. The Graduate Academic Manager will be responsible for academic coaching and creating workshop opportunities based on the needs of the student population. The position is involved in the development, coordination, and implementation of educational counseling services geared to achieving, maintaining, and improving student success and retention in clinical programs. The Graduate Academic Manager will also work with staff in admissions to assist with potential students and new students through orientation. The Graduate Academic Manager will collaborate with various offices across the college and university to provide necessary referrals. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of learning strategies, a passion for student success, and expertise in addressing the unique challenges faced by individuals pursuing advanced degrees in clinical fields. 

Essential functions: Oversees the activities and services provided to students and departmental counseling services and coordinates with and other academic support positions to help ensure that students receive consistently positive and effective learning strategies; Prepares, manages logistics, and works with Program Directors (PD) for student acclimation to graduate school. This includes completing program required documents as part of orientation; Works collegially with faculty, staff and students to disseminate information regarding, opportunities for professional development, funding, academic policy, and other related issues as they arise; Acts as a student advocate and referral source and provides consistent outreach and follow up services; Ensure accurate information is communicated to students and faculty in an effective and timely manner; In collaboration with the PD, serve as a point of contact for current students in the program for any questions or concerns regarding the program or their tenure at Temple University, including grade grievances and disciplinary action; As designated by PD, review and update (as needed) program handbooks, verifying that documents are up-to-date and in compliance with College and University policies and procedures; In collaboration with the PD, monitor (with department staff) recruitment, retention, and satisfaction of students in the degree program within the program; Attend Orientations, Convocation, Departmental Award Ceremonies and Commencement; Provide programming for clinical graduate students on school/life balance, graduate school expectations and mental well-being; Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and three or more years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

Required Skills & Abilities:
*Demonstrated supervisory and project management experience.
*Professional training design and/or delivery exposure
*Proficiency using software systems relevant to advising and project management.
*Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency with MS Office Suite software programs. 
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to conduct presentations in large group settings. 
*Demonstrated interpersonal and client service skills, along with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty and staff. 
*Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistently positive and objective student service approach even in challenging situations. 
*Demonstrated ability to work with others as part of a team in a high-volume and fast paced environment. 
*Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to use independent judgment. 
*Proven project and time management skills, along with the ability to prioritize tasks. 
*Demonstrated attention to detail. 
*Demonstrated knowledge of student information systems. 
*Ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends. 

Preferred:
*At least two (2) years’ experience in a higher education academic setting.
*Strong interest in and understanding of the disciplines associated with the College of Public Health.

This position is temporarily assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
