The Global Senior Medical Director - Abrocitinib Team Lead will report to the VP, Medical Dermatology Global Franchise Lead. The Senior Medical Director will develop and execute a comprehensive Medical Affairs strategy for Abrocitinib. He/She needs to show a high level of scientific and technical product expertise as well as dermatology area expertise and will benefit from an established and strong network of international KOLs in order to function as a peer and leader for medical affairs in developing this ambition. A key element of the work will be to identify and leverage synergies and best practices in US and International Medical Affairs colleagues. Collaboration across functions, creativity, solution-orientation and leadership skills are key criteria for a successful candidate while showing strong ability to prioritize and focus strategies based on specific asset requirements. These strategies will support Pfizer´s vision to be a highly trusted partner that is providing breakthroughs for patients.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Global Senior Medical Director - Abrocitinib Team Lead will lead a team of medical affairs colleagues and partner cross-functionally with medical platforms, commercial teams, global access and value (GAV) functions, Pfizer research and development (PRD) and legal and compliance to build the medical strategy for abrocitinib and execute activities .The Global Senior Medical Director - Abrocitinib Team Lead will collaborate with both US and International medical colleagues to understand unmet medical needs, atopic dermatitis disease care gaps, HCP and patient perspectives, regulatory and market access dynamics and integrate these insights to co-create and lead a global medical strategy. The Senior Director will:

  • Be accountable for the development and execution of the Global Medical Affairs strategic plan in support of abrocitinib
  • Lead, coach and develop team members within the abrocitinib global medical affairs team
  • Demonstrate deep disease area expertise in atopic dermatitis, abrocitinib clinical trial and RW data and contribute to internal and external leadership for the medical dermatology portfolio and pipeline
  • Ensure evidence generation plans are developed and executed in alignment with the abrocitinib integrated evidence plan
  • Lead insight generation activities, understanding the external stakeholder perspective through peer-to-peer interactions, field medical DFOs and advisory board meetings
  • Lead and manage evidence dissemination and medical education activities including scientific publications and scientific exchange
  • Chair the Global Medical Affairs Team (GMAT) for Abrocitinib and represent medical affairs on the Global Medicine Team (GMT)
  • Support ongoing activities for crisaborole including GMT and GMAT leadership, liaison with US and International crisaborole medical and cross-functional colleagues and supervision of team members as appropriate

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Advanced science degree (PhD/PharmD)
  • A minimum of 8 years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Subject matter expertise and experience in Inflammation and Immunology specific therapeutic areas
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead and execute global medical affairs strategies and tactics, including data generation, data dissemination and medical education
  • Very strong communication skills and peer-to-peer relationship building capacity and ability to integrate country and local needs
  • Proven track record and ability to work with cross-functional colleagues in a matrix team setting
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Board certification in Dermatology
  • Dermatology experience in Medical Affairs at Global/Regional level
  • Specific expertise in atopic dermatitis

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $205,400.00 to $342,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
