The Global Education Office is pleased to announce an exciting employment
opportunity! The GEO Resource Center and Passport Center is seeking an Office
Assistant who will work as a team member to provide outstanding support
services of moderate complexity to all staff members of the Global Education
Office. Along with other Resource Center employees, this individual is the
first point of contact with faculty, staff, students, and the general public
via walk-in, e-mail, or by phone regarding the many projects/programs within
GEO. As such, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a professional, friendly
and open manner, demonstrate a positive attitude, and actively problem-solve in
this role. This position will also be back up support for the Passport Center,
which duties include taking passport/visa photographs, checking documents, answering
applicant and customer questions. Must be available on some Saturdays in the
Passport Center and during normal operation hours Monday-Friday 10-20 hours a
week.

Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication
  • Good phone mannerisms
  • Patience with non-native English speakers
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds for a short period of time (moving file boxes or event supplies)
  • Must be able to balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be available to work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday opening shifts; work schedule will vary based on business needs
  • Minimum 10 hours/week; additional hours may be available based on business needs
