Genetics Didactic Nursing Faculty - Full-Time Tenure Stream

The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is looking for qualified applicants for an assistant or associate full-time tenure-stream faculty in the department of Health Promotion and Development. 

Faculty members are employees of the University and receive dedicated time and resources to perform scholarly work, travel to present their work at professional conferences, and opportunities to pursue specialty certification and faculty practice. Faculty promotion opportunities are available for all ranks. Qualifications for these appointment stream faculty positions include an earned doctorate (DNP or Ph.D.) and RN licensure in Pennsylvania. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Assistant Professor – A) An earned doctorate in nursing, genetics or a related field is required. B) Evidence of or potential for excellence in teaching, mentoring, and engaging diverse students. C) Demonstrated expertise in the area of genetics or expertise in a related substantive area. D) Evidence of potential to produce scholarly work. 

Associate Professor – A) An earned doctorate in nursing, genetics or a related field. B) Evidence of excellence in teaching, mentoring, and engaging diverse students. C) Evidence of sustained scholarly productivity as indicated by publications, grants, or any other validating material. D) Expertise recognized at the national/international level. 

Desired Qualifications: Program of research in genetics or related area. Faculty candidates should demonstrate their research success or the potential for significant accomplishments in their areas of interest. Desire with experience in the care of families, maternal-child health, and children across all developmental levels; and previous teaching experience.
