Job Summary/Basic Functions

This position is for a supervisor role for the student General Purpose Workroom for the school of Art & Design.
This position requires knowledge of how to safely use power tools, and to demonstrate that knowledge prior to being hired. The applicant will also need to complete the training required for this role. The supervisor will be present during lab hours to ensure that authorized trained students are safely using the equipment. The supervisor would be present and responsible for ensuring all authorized students are following all university safety procedures and policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled at EKU
  • Completion of ART 210 Painting 1 is required, as well as safety training upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Students should have advanced experience working with a variety of power tools and training with these tools
  • Knowledge of safety procedures regarding the tools
  • Observant, aware of surroundings and environment
  • Attention to details
  • Calm demeanor
