Job Summary

The majority of a graduate teaching assistant's duties are to provide instructional support for busy faculty members, including, but not limited to the following:
1. Assist faculty during scheduled course meetings, and with other teaching-related tasks, such as the preparation of instructional materials.
2. Grade assignments, which requires knowledge of subjects taught.
3. Hold office hours for tutoring students.


Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$1,473.00/month


Required Qualifications

1. Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook, which can be found at http://hr.illinoisstate.edu/downloads/GA_Handbook.pdf.
2. Must be a degree-seeking graduate student at Illinois State University.
3. For teaching assistant positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language.


Preferred Qualifications

Students who are studying history and interested to gain work experience in the field.
