Job Description: | GatorWell is seeking enthusiastic, outgoing, motivated and health-conscious students to assist with the front desk and outreach duties with the Health Hut and at the GatorWell Main Office. Those applying will need to be comfortable taking initiative to approach students and encourage them to participate in interactive wellbeing related activities. Students of any major are welcome to apply. Primary responsibilities will include the following:
All of this is centered on messages including the following health topics: Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs, Cold & Flu, HIV/AIDS, Interpersonal Violence Prevention, Healthy Relationships, Sexual Health, Sleep, Stress and Time Management, and the 9 Dimensions of Wellbeing. Time Commitment:
Expectations: For this position, work shifts will take place primarily at the GatorWell main office at the Reitz Union, as well as tabling and working regular shifts in the GatorWell Health Hut at various events around campus as needed. Students are expected to be highly responsible and dependable. This position works as part of a creative team that includes Health Promotion Specialists and other students. In this position, you may need to field question(s) (in person or by phone or email) around sensitive issues such as, sexual health (safer sex including STD/STIs & birth control options), interpersonal violence, alcohol, and stress, as well as actively engage any visitors to the GatorWell main office and via outreach. For those selected for an interview, you will be asked to perform a brief, 3-5 minute “skit” during your interview. The purpose of the skit is to showcase your communication skills and ability to organize thought in a scenario similar to the daily work expectations for a GatorWell Front Desk Wellness Educator also providing outreach. Expected Salary: |
This is an hourly OPS position and does not include a tuition/fee waiver or benefits. Salary is $12.00/hour |
