Summary of Job Duties:

The Front Desk Access Coordinator position offers an exciting opportunity to work under supervision and provide comprehensive support for patient care activities and the department of people and culture. This role may require meeting and greeting the public, answering phone calls, and coordinating appointments in a call center environment. The successful candidate will follow appropriate call-routing workflows and schedule, reschedule, coordinate, and cancel appointments using the hospital electronic medical record (EMR). Additionally, the Front Desk Access Coordinator will responsible for creating new patient charts and inputting and updating accurate patient information. This position will also conduct insurance verification and benefits explanation by running eligibility on patients, requesting outside records, and conducting pre-registration when needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS diploma/GED  plus two (2) years of experience in a busy medical office, clinic, or hospital.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in patient insurance verification and benefits explanation.
  • Familiarity with employee relations, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and compliance regulations.
  • Experience in maintaining and managing electronic employee files.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in using hospital electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Familiarity with call-routing workflows.

Additional Information:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work assigned work queues for scheduling, registration, and billing.
  • Maintain and manage electronic employee files for the department, including employee relations, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, compliance, training, and other confidential personnel files.
  • Meets, greets, and assists the public either in person or via telephone in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Conducts insurance verification and benefits explanation by running eligibility on patients, and requests outside records.
  • Assists with audits and the employee cycle processes through scanning of employee documentation. 
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
