Job Description
The mission of the Anoka-Ramsey Foundations fulfills the potential of the students in the North Metro and East Central Minnesota areas, by expanding their opportunities and broadening their horizons with an affordable education and promise of a strong future.
The Foundations Associate Director & Development Director is responsible for providing leadership and management for the two Foundations’ operations, fundraising growth and sustained success. The position will identify, cultivate, and personally solicit individuals, corporations and private foundations who have the potential to make gifts to the ARCC Coon Rapids and Cambridge Foundations. This position encompasses responsibility for two distinct Foundations and geographies which include the North Metro area (Rapids Campus Foundation) and the Eastern Central Minnesota area (Cambridge Campus Foundation). 
The Foundations Associate Director & Development Director will build capacity and increase visibility of ARCC Foundations; increase connections between donors and the college; promote and advance fundraising for the college’s needs including annual fund, major gifts, alumni outreach; oversee the scholarship programs; develop donor relationships, and pursue solicitation of gifts from corporations, businesses, foundations, and individuals. This position is responsible for preparing a variety of written correspondence, documents, reports, database management, financial records, and customer service. Finally, this position works directly with existing, new and proposed academic programs to facilitate both cash and in-kind donations to foster programmatic success.
This position will have responsibilities at both campuses and may require traveling between Cambridge and Coon Rapids as needed. The home campus will be the Rapids campus. A hybrid work schedule is possible. The successful candidate and hiring manager will work together to determine a schedule that meets the department needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience working in an educational setting, not for profit or other industry performing fundraising, donor relations and/or related responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Education, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related area along with three (3) years of professional related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to successfully manage multi-functional or diverse areas.
  • Ability to understand the relationship between college leadership and major gift donors.
  • Experience in making cold calls as well as developing cultivation and solicitation strategies.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to working with and fostering an inclusive environment for a diverse population of individuals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional experience in education fundraising and major gift fundraising
  • Experience working in a 501©(3) non-profit.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current best practices in development, including annual major gift-giving
  • Experience in writing business plans and proposals
  • Master’s degree in Public Administration, Education, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related area
