General Description / Primary Purpose
This is work providing custodial services related to floor surfaces, including carpet and tile.

Essential Duties


Job Function
This is work performing mainly carpet and tile floor care duties and major wall-washing but also some housekeeping duties including cleaning restrooms, locker rooms, classrooms, offices, and common use areas in accordance with the APPA cleaning standards. Performs floor and wall cleaning and maintenance duties as it relates to floor cleaning equipment. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and buffs floors. Dusts and cleans offices, laboratories, and/or other facilities. Washes windows. Cleans and sanitizes bathroom facilities. Sweeps and cleans walkways. Makes simple repairs to buildings and cleaning equipment, and reports more extensive damage. May replaces light bulbs. May dispose of contaminated trash and waste materials. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

5%- Supplementary responsibilities. a) special set-up requests; b) graduations; c) provides manpow¬er during events; d) cleans up after events; e) work orders; f) receives and delivers¬ supplies; g) assists other departments as needed; h) picks up materials from vendors; i) helps keep break and storage areas neat and clean.
Required Qualifications
Completion of ninth (9th) grade required; HS Diploma preferred. Some positions may require possession of a classified driver’s license appropriate to a type of vehicle operated.
