Job Description

The Fiscal Assistant has an important role within the fiscal and administrative structure ofthe Law School. The position is one of two Fiscal Assistants that reports to the Assistant Director, Fiscal & Grant Administration. This position is the primary processing pointfor all day-to-day financial transactions originating from the faculty, staff and studentorganizations. The role preforms critical fiscal functions such asprocessing budget transfers, requisitions, vouchers, and expensereports. In addition, this position assists with the completionof monthly reconciliations on various law school accounts and purchasing cards, as well as the creation and distribution of month-end financial reports.

The team of two Fiscal Assistants is also responsible for various HR functions at the Law School, which includes processing the hires for part-time faculty, student employees, and faculty supplementals. The position's fiscal HR responsibilities also include tracking and reconciling student payroll and other reports.

Other important tasksinclude updating various financial reports for the Associate Deanof Finance & Administration and researching various fiscal matters as needed.

The Fiscal Assistant willhave other administrative responsibilities such as submitting facilities work tickets,assisting with various law school events and ad hoc projects.

Hiring Range: $22.69/hr to $28.35/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.


Requirements

Experience &Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance
  • 2-3 years of experience in a finance or accounting office preferred
  • Experience with complex Microsoft Excel functions and formulas

Functional &Technical Competencies

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Strong client-service orientation and customer service skills
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Ability to fully utilize Microsoft Office suite of products and G-Suite
  • Experience using PeopleSoft Financials (vouchers, expense reports, researching historical transactions)
