The College of the Arts and Architecture (CAA) is a dynamic center of creativity, artistry, and innovation. The CAA comprises two distinct schools – the Peck School of the Arts and the School of Architecture and Urban Planning – that offer a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in the visual and performing arts, architecture, design, and urban planning.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Divisional Finance Officer for the College of the Arts and Architecture, the Financial Specialist works closely with the College’s Accountant to provide administrative support for financial processes and reporting. This position is responsible for learning and adhering to complex guidelines, policies, and procedures for travel reimbursement, procurement, and other accounting functions. This position will work directly with the College’s purchasing card reconciliation, invoice payments, purchase order creation, expense re-allocation, and journal upload processes.
Work will be performed primarily on the UW-Milwaukee campus, with requests for remote work considered after the initial training period. Hybrid work options may be available with specifics regarding work location requirements discussed during the interview process.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field; OR 1 year of professional experience with administrative or fiscal coordination
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field
  • Experience with transactional accounting
  • Experience in a higher education, government, and/or non-profit environment
  • At least one (1) year of accounting or finance related experience
Target Salary Range $20.00 - $24.00 an hour (Final salary will be determined by finalist's experience, training, education, and equity-based factors.)
