The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking a Financial Operations Specialist - Senior to join our Finance team.

The Financial Operations Specialist - Senior is responsible for moderately complex financial transactions; applies knowledge of financial principles and concepts to oversee the general ledger, prepares financial reports, and performs financial analysis; independently completes month- and year-end close activities, coordinates invoicing for both internal and external contracts or agreements; supports the college in budget preparation, forecasting, identifying and implementing strategic initiatives;  oversees asset management activities for the college; serves as a subject matter expert for issues including but not limited to compliance and interpretation of financial policies and procedures with college community; collaborates with college leaders to find creative solutions to college financial needs; develops and creates improvements to current processes and practices; educates and collaborates with stakeholders around department and college financials; , serves as resource and mentor for less experienced team members; provides coverage when needed for other finance team members.

Schedule

7:30 am - 4:30 pm

Potential for Hybrid Schedule that consists of 3 days on-site and up to 2 days remote.

Salary

$64,300.00 - $84,550.00/annually.

Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this position is subject to indoor environmental conditions. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work as well as reviewing documents both in hard copy and electronic formats. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks.

Position Requirements

Required: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or an equivalent combination of education/experience; minimum of 4 years knowledge of moderate and advanced accounting principles and applications; proven experience in progressively responsible financial and administrative capacity.

This position requires successful completion of background check(s) and drug & alcohol screening.

Desired: MBA or similar advanced degree. Knowledge of university policies and procedures; proficiency in the university’s financial systems (i.e. Workday, Tableau, RAE, Surplus, PI Portal, etc.) strongly preferred; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel using pivot tables and advanced formulas; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated customer service mindset and collaborative style of work; proven ability to manage multiple time-critical priorities and projects independently.
