FINANCIAL MANAGER, Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART), to assume project management responsibilities for several interdisciplinary research projects, each with multiple principal investigators. Will also provide administrative oversight for the MIT office in the absence of the directors or executive officer. Will be responsible for SMART-MIT’s financial, budgeting, accounting, and reporting functions, including developing and generating internal financial reports; monitor and prepare financial performance reports for SMART and ensure compliance with MIT and SMART policies and contractual obligations with the sponsor; provide advice to principal investigators on all aspects of financial administration; interact daily with the SMART financial and accounting managers in Singapore regarding the financial management of SMART’s financial activities; provide assistance for SMART’s annual audit; contribute to the development of SMART work processes, policies, and procedures for finance; continuously review and identify areas of improvement for enhancing the efficiency of the centre; and provide direct supervision to a research administrator as well as mentoring and training to Singapore staff members in the MIT financial processes.
REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of four years’ financial management experience, strong financial and analytical skills, experience using financial reporting systems, proficiency with Excel, and ability to work with databases. Seek a proactive individual who is able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Supervisor experience and the ability to troubleshoot IT problems are preferred. Job #14373
