Financial Data Analyst

General Description of the Position

Reporting to the Budget Director, the Financial Data Analyst for Institutional Advancement is responsible for the processing of all purchase's requisitions for the Division, overseeing and ensuring accuracy of daily deposits of donations received, providing accurate budget balance reports, tracking departmental expenditures, and providing clerical support for the efficient operation of the Division.


Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
Input data (purchase requisitions, travel authorization, etc.) into the banner, Financial & Raiser's Edge system for the Division of Institutional Advancement.

  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Create and send invoices (account receivable) to funding sources, as necessary.
  • Assisting with the preparation of the Foundation's annual audit.
  • Monitors division expenditures in relations to the budgets to ensure no variances.
  • Verify vendors with the Department of purchasing to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • Manage the departments petty cash account.
  • Keep track of Purchase Orders and request closure of unused PO's and "R" #s yearly.
  • Provide coverage for the front office and phones, as necessary.
  • Provide back-up to the Administrative Secretary and Development Technician, when necessary,
  • Assist with events and be willing to work evenings and weekends when required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor of department head.
  • Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
    The candidate must possess the following skills and abilities to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations:
  • Substantial interpersonal skills including a cooperative, patient, and professional manner.
  • Considerable experience and/or aptitude for computer word processing and spread sheet applications, preferably Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using Financial Edge and quick books preferred.

  • Qualification Standards

  • Associate degree in a business discipline or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in a business office environment, preferably a college or University.
  • Considerable experience and/or aptitude for computer word processing and spread sheet applications, preferably Microsoft Office.
