Job Summary
The Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) is seeking a highly motivated, professional Financial Analyst Senior to contribute to the diversity and excellence of our department and to assist the faculty and staff of our fast-paced research center. The CCTS supports campus research professionals to ensure they are able to meet their research goals and ultimately improve the health of our communities and populations. Since its inception in 2006, the CCTS has invested millions of dollars into research funding and trainee support at the University of Kentucky through its commitment to funding innovative, early stage translational research. The CCTS’s vision is to catalyze clinical and translational discoveries through an integrated and transformative research environment targeting improved health, with emphasis on underrepresented populations in Kentucky. In support of that vision, the Financial Analyst Senior role will be responsible for financial support for the Pilots program leadership and the Director and Executive Director of the CCTS. This position will also provide support to CCTS staff as needed.
This position will support the financial operations of the Pilots program and play a key role in the financial well-being of CCTS investments in research training. This position will serve as the main point of contact for reviewing and analyzing spending and auditing Pilots research awards to ensure spending matches approved budget. They will assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining financial policies and procedures specific to the CCTS Pilot program. The financial management process will include coordinating with the Business Manager to set up all cost centers for all pilot awardees, monthly audits of all department account reconciliations via the use of Tableau and SAP reports, The Financial Analyst Senior will perform a final audit of completed pilots projects to ensure all expenditures are allowable, reasonable, and allocable and report findings to the awardee, Pilot Manager, and business manager .
Successful candidates will possess excellent customer service, financial and accounting, and administrative skills with a strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize projects and maintain accuracy.
