Summary of Position: Independently perform treasury-related activities related to the General Ledger and the University’s Financial Statements. Assist the Treasury Manager with monthly KCAD and Foundation reconciliations, account analysis and cash projections. Also assist the Finance Office to analyze, audit, reconcile accounts and assist with internal and external audits as assigned.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: A working knowledge of higher education, disbursements, and/or treasury.
Work experience with daily accounting transactions, financial statement preparation and financial spreadsheets. Experience with Ellucian Banner preferred.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Analyze and maintain Kendall College of Art & Design (KCAD) & Ferris Foundation financials and ensure they reconcile to the general ledger.
Review and control data in the General Ledger / Financial Statements. This includes daily, monthly and annual data-control functions, review receipts for accuracy, complete departmental journal entries.
Utilize FIMS software to reconcile Foundation gifts and investments monthly
Initiate payment transfers to and from Ferris Foundation and Ferris State University as donor gifts are made
Perform quarterly University balance sheet reconciliations
Responsible for scheduling monthly Charter School payments and maintaining transaction records.
Work as liaison to Athletics department to complete annual EADA reporting and NCAA Audit
Assist with University and Foundation annual audits
Create and maintain Treasury/Finance related standard operating procedures
Update as appropriate, Treasury/Finance/Accounting webpages
Analyze and prepare monthly financial presentations for Admin & Finance, and Board of Trustees
Perform daily treasury duties, prepare investment reconciliations and financial statements for all fund groups as assigned.
Monthly Ferris Foundation balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare monthly financial package and analytics for the President of KCAD.
Works as liaison for Ferris/KCAD for Purchasing, SHERM, Budget Office, Accounting, and other departments when necessary.
Recommend and implement technology solutions for daily finance/accounting functions.
Assist with /complete year-end close and start-up of new fiscal year, budget development, etc.
Maintain integrity of financial computer system (s) to ensure that financial transactions are properly tracked and recorded.
Assist with the analysis of internal accounts, financial transactions, complete annual financial statements, maintain retention records, etc.
Support and serve as backup to the Treasury Manager.
Cross train within the Finance Office and be able to complete other assigned finance/treasury functions. Assist with the development of training materials and conduct training sessions related to the university accounting system.
Perform all duties in compliance with applicable University policies and procedures and state and federal requirements.
Report directly to designated supervisor.
Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of designated information.
