Job Summary

The Clinical Practice Group (CPG) Business Services office operates as the internal and centralized physicians’ professional fee billing entity for the University at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Reporting to the CPG Director and Operations Manager, the Financial Analyst 2 plays a crucial role in supporting decision-making processes through financial analysis. This position demands accuracy, independence, and the ability to thrive amidst competing priorities.

The Finance Analyst is tasked with a defined set of duties integral to the financial reporting function. Additionally, they often undertake project-based assignments requiring the gathering and synthesis of data from diverse sources, presenting findings clearly and concisely. Moreover, the Finance Analyst 2 is expected to exhibit professionalism, tact, and sound judgment while adhering to established procedures and policies, effectively resolving various issues within the organization.

Department Description

The Clinical Practice Group (CPG) Business Services provides the University with an internal and centralized physician’s professional fee billing operation at San Francisco General Hospital. This includes all 20 ZSFG departments and one off-site clinic. The Business Office processes a total of 674,000 line charges per year consisting of $124M in billed charges.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience / training
• 1+ years of directly relevant experience
• Working knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems
• Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize, and perform basic financial analysis assignments
• Demonstrated ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing clearly and concisely
• Demonstrated ability using spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills at all levels within the unit; excellent service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to function as a member of a team
• Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources
