Position Information

Under the general supervision of the Senior Research and Finance Analyst in Computer Science and Engineering, the incumbent is responsible for providing financial and analytical support to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The incumbent will review and oversee the financial activities for 45 Principal Investigators and create comprehensive monthly reports and review them with the associated PIs. The incumbent will be responsible for all financial Payroll/personnel transactions and monthly reconciliation of the Department ledger in accordance with university and agency policies. The incumbent will maintain fiscal integrity for all Department funds and accounts ensuring they comply with all UC and sponsor guidelines.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Minimum Requirements

Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally.
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information, organizes, and performs basic financial analysis assignments.
Some knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems.
Ability to function as a member of a team.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills at all levels within the unit; service orientation; critical thinking; attention to detail; ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to use spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports.


Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of UC policies and procedures.

Understanding of UCR systems, including ePay, Concur and Oracle Financials.
