THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN CHATTANOOGA, TN

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:   The Fellowship Coordinator of Cardiovascular Disease and Gastroenterology handles the day-to-day management of the ACGME residency program and fellowship program. This position ensures compliance with non-clinical ACGME accreditation requirements, institutional requirements, ABMS requirements, and state and federal regulations. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides program leadership to the training program in the absence of the program director.
  • Manage and distribute the resident call schedule to ensure all faculty and hospitals are aware of which resident is on call at all times.
  • Manage information about the program, residents, faculty, and staff within the web-based New Innovations residency management system.
  • Plan and coordinate annual program orientation for new residents.
  • Manage the accreditation process for the training programs.
  • Must commit to memory the ACGME common program and specialty specific accreditation requirements.
  • Apply state/federal regulations and provide documentation to support when audited.
  • Annually setup the program in the NRMP/ERAS system for the program to participate in the national match and utilize the application.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.

    Qualifications

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION:  Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare/Administration or a related field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

    EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience in administration or customer service; OR a combination of education and experience to equal (6) years.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to work with a very diverse group of physicians and staff.
    • Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and ability to take the initiative to manage multiple small training program issues with immediate direction.
    • Ability to work as an integral member of the residency management.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational and management skills

    WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings. May require overnight travel.
